APPLICATION
Q.How are your hair extensions applied?
There are numerous methods of application available , please see OUR METHODS
Q. How long do the hair extensions take to apply?
On average, it takes anywhere from 4-8 hours for a Full Head of Hair Extensions, 2-4 hours for a Half Head, and 1-2 hours for a Partial Head.
Q. Why does it take so long?
Applying professional hair extensions should not be rushed if it is to be done correctly. The application is a very meticulous process, and since each extension strand is very fine there are a lot of individual extensions to apply. A full head of hair extensions can consist of anywhere between 100-250 individual strands.
Q. Do you cut the hair extensions after they have been applied?
Yes – once the hair extensions have been applied, they are cut, styled and carefully blended with your natural hair so that they appear perfectly natural and completely undetectable.
How long does my own hair need to be to have hair extensions applied?
Your hair needs to be at least 4 inches long on top to cover the top row of hair extensions, and at least 2- 3 inches at the nape of the neck.
Q.Will my hair extensions look natural?
Absolutely. Our hair extensions are custom tailored to match your own hair perfectly. Due to the technique in which they are applied, they fall very naturally and sit just as naturally grown hair does. The colours are matched and blended precisely to your own colour. Once the application is complete, the extensions are cut, styled and blended with your own hair. The finished result will leave no tell-tale signs of extensions and they will appear exactly as if they were your very own hair.
Q. Are your hair extensions suitable for Afro-Carribean hair?
Yes, our hair extensions are normally suitable for Afro-Caribbean hair so long as it has been relaxed in order for it to blend with the hair extensions.
EXTENSION HAIR
Q. What types of hair do you use?
We only use the finest quality, hand-picked European natural human hair extensions that maintain their natural vitality and lustre.
Q. What is double drawn and single drawn hair?
Double drawn hair means that each bundle of hair contains only hairs of the same length, and all the shorter hairs have been removed. For example, a bundle of 16 inch double drawn hair would contain only hairs which are 16 inches in length. This means that once the extensions have been applied the hair will be as thick and full right the way from root to tip. Single drawn hair only has the very shortest hairs removed, but still contains hairs of different lengths in each bundle. A bundle of 16 inch single drawn hair would contain hairs of 10 inch, 12 inch, 14 inch and 16 inch hair. Therefore, single drawn hair tends to taper toward the ends and is more suited to fine hair.

DOUBLE DRAWN HAIR
Q. How is the hair collected?
Our suppliers only select the best quality, healthy human hair. All our hair is sourced ethically and financial payment is made to the hair donor. The hair is drawn into a ponytail, tied and cut. This ensures that all the hairs are aligned in the same direction (cuticle correct).
Q. What is cuticle correct hair?
Cuticle correct hair, also referred to as ‘cuticle aligned’, ‘root to point correct’ or ‘remi/remy’ hair refers to human hair that has its cuticle intact and each strand of hair is aligned in the same direction from root to tip. When applying real hair extensions it is vital that the hair is applied in the direction that it was naturally grown. If the hair is all mixed up or applied upside-down, the cuticle scales will catch on each other and cause the hair to tangle constantly. Consequently, correct alignment is essential when applying human hair extensions.
Q. Can you reuse the hair?
Yes. Due to the premium quality of our hair and if the correct aftercare advice is followed you can expect further applications, which lowers the cost for subsequent reapplications since you do not need to keep paying for new hair. Some people prefer to have new hair each time, but this simply comes down to personal preference.
Please note that when reusing all the same hair you may lose up one inch off the length of your hair extensions, as the original bond will be trimmed from the top of each extension in order to create a new one. However, a small amount of extra hair can be applied underneath in order to keep the same length. For Half Head refits, your own hair may need to be trimmed by approximately one inch to allow for this. Generally, it is not always possible to reuse hair for a Partial Head, since after the extensions have been removed and reapplied they would be shorter in length, and would therefore not blend with the natural hair, unless your own hair was cut shorter.
Q. Are real human hair extensions better than synthetic hair extensions?
Real human hair extensions are the best type of hair extensions since they look and feel natural, and can also be treated very much like your own hair. Synthetic hair generally looks fake, feels unnatural, and cannot be treated and styled in the same way as human hair, since it will not react in the same way. Essentially, synthetic hair is plastic and will melt under high temperatures, and therefore hairdryers and straightening irons should not be used.
However in terms of quality, the common misconception that most people make is that all human hair extensions are the same. However, human hair extensions are available in a range of grades or qualities. The quality of the extension hair plays a large part in determining whether or not the extensions will look real, and how long they will last and is therefore of great importance.

Q. How can you detect poor quality human hair?
There are a number of ways to determine whether hair is low quality:
- The feel – it feels unnaturally silky (due to the silicon it has been coated in), similar to the texture of doll’s hair.
- The look – the hair tapers towards the tips. This is single drawn hair containing strands of different lengths, making the hair appear straggly at the ends. The hair also has an unnatural shine – it doesn’t reflect light like normal, unprocessed hair does.
- The packaging – the hair is sold in ‘manufactured’ branded packaging.
- The smell – the hair has a synthetic, plastic-like smell – it smells ‘manufactured’.
- The label – i.e. hair that is labelled as ‘European Style’ or ‘Euro Quality’ etc.
- The attachment – the hair is attached on to a poorly made machine weft.
- The price – cheap hair is cheap for a reason!
Q. Is it possible to provide my own hair?
No. We only use our own hair, as we cannot guarantee the quality of the hair for you if you were to provide it yourself. We have literally searched the globe selecting the very finest human hair in the world so that we can offer the best quality hair possible to our clients.
Types of Real Human Hair Extensions:Normal Non-Remy Hair: Poor Quality
Non-remy hair is the most common form of human hair available, and is usually collected in Asia. It is also known as ‘fallen hair’, ‘brushed hair’ or ‘combings’. Many women in China and India literally gather hair from their hair brushes and sell it to hair collectors. Hair is also gathered from salon floors and sold. The roots and tips are all mixed up in non-remy hair, and therefore tangling is a problem.
There are two types of non-remy hair:
- Normal or unprocessed non-remy hair
- Processed non-remy hair
With Normal Non-Remy Hair, the cuticles are still present, but because the hair is aligned in different directions, the hair is prone to constant tangling. It is extremely difficult to brush, and even after brushing the hair will continue to tangle. Ultimately, this is the cheapest and lowest grade of human hair.
Non-remi hair – tangles easily
Non-Remy Processed Hair: Very poor quality
Next grade up from Normal Non-Remy Hair is Processed Non-Remy Hair.
This hair is subjected to intense chemically processing to reduce friction and tangling. The hair is stripped of its cuticle by initially soaking it in an acid bath. Once the cuticle has been stripped, the hair loses its shine and vitality, so this is then replaced by coating the hair in silicon oil, which gives the hair a synthetic feel and an unnatural shine.
At first the hair feels soft and silky, but as soon as the hair is washed the silicon oil begins to wash out, and the hair quickly loses its sheen, and becomes dull, dry, rough and brittle. The hair is now exposed, revealing remnants of the destroyed cuticle, which inevitably causes the hair to tangle and mat constantly. Every wash will worsen this condition, and very quickly the hair begins to take on a consistency similar to horse hair. The hair doesn’t look real, it doesn’t move like real hair does, it remains quite stiff, and it tends to separate into strands making the hair extensions very apparent.
Caution should be taken with buying processed hair, since it is often marketed as ‘Euro Hair’ or ‘European Style’ or ‘European Quality’ hair – i.e. the hair is of Asian origin but processed to appear like European hair.
Processed non-remy hair – very unnatural high shine due to silicon coating.
Indian Remy Hair: MEDIUM/HIGH QUALITY
Indian Remy Hair is considered medium/high grade hair. It still has its cuticles intact and the roots and tips are aligned in the same direction. Indian Remy hair is usually regarded as highly ethical as much of the hair is collected from Hindu Temples where woman, children and sometimes even men have their hair shaved in prayer or as a sacrifice to God. The Temple then sells the hair and the money that is made is funnelled back into the local community.
Providing the colour processing of the hair is completed slowly over a period of weeks (this ensures the cuticles are left intact) then you can expect soft, silky hair that integrates extremely well with your natural hair. Sadly the majority of Indian hair on the market is processed heavily over 1-2 days and often the cuticle layer is stripped away the hair, resulting in dry, brittle hair that matts and tangles easily.
European Hair: FINEST QUALITY
European Hair is very high quality hair. You should not confuse genuine European hair with the terms ‘Euro Hair’ or ‘European Style’ hair which is Asian hair that is processed to appear like European hair. Our genuine European hair comes fromTurkey and Southern European countries such as Italy and Spain. The hair is collected by taking raw ponytail cuttings, ensuring that the cuticles of the hair are correctly aligned. It is beautifully glossy, extremely soft, fine in texture, and is naturally wavy. Besides colouring the hair to produce a wider range of colours, it is left unprocessed and remains in its natural, healthy condition.
Many hair extensions salons and technicians use lower quality hair because it is cheaper, and it allows them to offer natural hair extensions at relatively low prices to attract customers. However, the truth is that cheap hair extensions are a false economy, since not only do they lack quality but they simply do not last. At best they are only suitable for temporary clip in hair extensions. They are certainly not suitable for permanent hair extensions, since the quality of the hair deteriorates so rapidly and would need replacing very quickly.
It is important to be aware of hair extensions salons and technicians that offer hair extensions at seemingly low prices, because unquestionably they will use poor quality human hair. This is fine so long as you are not concerned with the longevity and condition of your hair extensions. But if you only want the best – if you want your hair extensions to appear authentic, to look beautiful and to feel amazing, then our luxury range of European hair extensions are the only option!
